Community Guidelines

Anonymity works when both people get to keep it. These guidelines exist so you can talk to a stranger without worrying that they will try to find out who you are, record you, or turn the chat into something you never agreed to. Breaking them can cost you your access.

The short version

  • Let the other person stay anonymous, the same way you want to.
  • Treat a stranger the way you would want to be treated at 2 a.m. by someone you will never see again.
  • If a chat is not working, tap next. You do not need to win it.
  • Report what crosses a line, then move on.

Protect each other's anonymity

These rules are specific to an anonymous service, and we enforce them firmly.

  • No doxxing: do not try to work out someone's real name, address, school, workplace or social accounts, and never post that kind of detail about anyone.
  • No pressing for personal information. Asking once where someone is from is conversation. Asking again after they have dodged, or demanding a phone number or handle, is not.
  • No recording. Screen recordings, screenshots, audio captures and photos of the screen are all off limits without the other person's clear agreement.
  • No threats to expose someone, and no using something they told you against them.

Adults only, without exception

Every user must be 18 or older. Anyone who says or shows they are younger, and anyone who seeks contact with minors, is removed. If you meet someone who seems underage, end the chat and report it straight away; you do not need to be certain.

Other things that get accounts removed

  • Nudity, sexual acts or sexual content on camera, and unwanted sexual messages in text or voice.
  • Harassment, bullying, slurs, or hate aimed at someone's race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
  • Threats of violence, and content that encourages self-harm.
  • Scams of any kind: asking for money, gift cards or crypto, fake "verification" fees, romance scams.
  • Spam, advertising, and steering people to other apps or websites.
  • Posing as Anonymous Chat Live staff or as another real person.
  • Illegal activity, including selling drugs or weapons.
  • Bots, automation, or tricks to farm the Reward Center.

How to report

Use the report button on the chat screen while the chat is open, or right after it ends. The report reaches our moderation team with the chat context attached, which is far more useful than a description written later. Block the person too if you never want to meet them again.

For anything that needs more explanation, email [email protected] with roughly when it happened and what you saw.

What happens next

People on our team review reports and decide on an outcome, from a warning to a permanent ban. The person you reported is never told it was you. For privacy reasons we usually do not share the outcome with you either, but every valid report shapes what happens to that account.

Looking after yourself

  • Keep your full name, phone number, address and social handles out of chats.
  • Check what your camera can see before switching it on, including mail, photos and windows.
  • Never send money to someone you met here, whatever the story.
  • Be wary of anyone who wants to move the conversation elsewhere fast.
  • If you feel unsafe or pressured, leave. Skipping is always allowed.
